Where Is Protoflow Made? The Badge Says USA, the Label Does Not

Quick answer

The brand pack for Protoflow includes a made in the USA badge, but the label prints no country of manufacture and no factory. The distributor is in Aurora, Colorado. We cannot confirm where the capsules are made, and we list it as a point to ask the seller.

The badge01

Does Protoflow say it is made in the USA?

A badge in the brand pack does, but the label we read does not.

The pack includes a round badge with a flag and the words made in the USA. We show it as brand artwork. On the label, the only place name is the distributor's address in Aurora, Colorado. A distributor's address is where a company does business, not where its product is made.

The rules02

What does made in the USA mean in law?

The FTC treats the claim as a promise that a product is all or virtually all made in the United States.

That is a high bar, and it applies to the product and its parts. Many supplements use herbs grown abroad, since saw palmetto, ginseng, epimedium and catuaba come from different parts of the world. A bottle can be filled in the US and still hold imported plants. A seller who uses the claim should be able to explain it.

The FDA lists registered facilities, but a registration alone tells you little about quality (FDA, Information for Consumers on Supplements).

Asking04

How can you check where it is made?

Ask the order desk, and ask for the facility name, the address and the certificate of analysis for your lot.

  • Is the product filled and packed in the United States?
  • Are the herbs imported, and from where?
  • Which facility, and is there an audit?

Sourcing05

Why do herbs on a label come from so many places?

Because most medicinal plants grow in particular climates, and supplement makers buy them from traders worldwide.

Saw palmetto grows in the south-eastern United States, ginseng in Asia and North America, muira puama and catuaba in Brazil, and epimedium in China and nearby regions. A supplement company that wants all of them buys from several suppliers. That is normal and it is not a flaw. It does mean that a simple badge cannot describe the product's whole supply chain.

The worry for buyers is quality control. Plants can be misidentified, diluted or contaminated. The FDA has warned about a product sold as tejocote root that held a toxic plant instead (NCCIH, Hawthorn). That is not about Protoflow, but it shows why identity testing and a certificate of analysis matter more than a flag on the front.

One more check06

Is the lot number a sign of where it was made?

No, a lot number identifies a batch, not a place, and the seller's reference PRO-26/PR-6060 does not name a factory.

A lot code lets a company trace a batch through its records and recall it if needed. It is useful, but only when someone with access can read what it points to. Ask the order desk what the lot code leads to, and whether a certificate of analysis exists for it.

Does it matter07

Should the country of manufacture decide your purchase?

It is one input, and not the most important: the label amounts, the evidence and your doctor's view matter more.

A US factory does not make a formula effective. It may make an audit easier. See the testing and quality page for what each badge can and cannot show.

FAQ08

Questions on this topic

Do imported herbs make a product worse?

Not by themselves. Many plants grow only in certain regions. What matters is identity testing, clean handling and honest labelling, which a certificate of analysis can show.

Does the bottle say Protoflow is made in the USA?

A brand badge says so, but the label prints no country of manufacture, so we cannot confirm it.

Are the herbs in Protoflow grown in America?

Not necessarily. The label gives no origin, and several herbs on it are grown in other regions.

Does the Aurora address mean it is made there?

No. It is the distributor's address on the label, not a factory address.
