How to Read the Protoflow Supplement Facts Panel
Read the Protoflow panel from the top: serving size is two capsules, there are 30 servings, then the amounts per serving. Only vitamin E and niacin have a daily value. The twelve herb lines carry a dagger meaning none is established. The panel does not give extract types, plant parts or test results.

Serving01
What do serving size and servings per container mean?
All numbers on the panel refer to two capsules, and a 60-capsule bottle makes 30 servings.
It is easy to mistake the amounts for one capsule. Divide by two for a single capsule. When you compare with another product, check whether its amounts are per capsule or per serving, since a shift in unit can make a product look bigger or smaller than it is.
Daily value02
What does percent daily value tell you?
It shows how much of a typical daily need one serving supplies, based on a 2,000-calorie diet.
Vitamin E at 13 mg is 87% and niacin at 75 mg is 469%. Over 100% is not automatically harmful, because the daily value is a target and not a ceiling. The ceiling is the upper limit, which for niacin from supplements is 35 mg (NIH ODS, Niacin). So 469% is the figure to look at twice.
Dagger03
What does the dagger mean?
It says that no daily value has been established for that line.
The same dagger on the front of the pack, after "Optimal Flow Support†", points to the FDA statement. Two different jobs, one symbol, which confuses many readers. On the panel, it marks twelve lines. At the front, it signals that the claim is not FDA evaluated.
Parts04
Which parts of the panel matter most?
| Part | What to check |
|---|---|
| Serving size | Two capsules |
| Niacin | 75 mg against the 35 mg upper limit |
| Ginkgo | 120 mg; bleeding caution (NCCIH, Ginkgo) |
| Vitamin E | 13 mg; add other sources |
| Other ingredients | Gelatin, soy, maltodextrin |
| Distributor | PhytoThrive Labs, Aurora, CO |
Forms05
What forms are not shown?
The panel does not say which form of niacin or vitamin E is used, or which extract of each herb.
Niacin may be nicotinic acid, which flushes, or niacinamide, which does not. Vitamin E may be natural or synthetic. Herbs may be powder or extract at some ratio. These details change how strong and how safe a product is, so ask the seller to state them in writing.
Amounts06
Are the amounts per ingredient meaningful?
They show weight of the material, which may be mostly powder, so they do not tell you how much active compound you get.
Two hundred milligrams of a plant powder differs greatly from 200 mg of a concentrated extract. Without a standardization statement, the weight alone is a poor guide to strength. That is why comparing the numbers with trial doses can mislead.
Not on it07
What is missing from the panel?
- A manufacturer or factory
- A test date or certifier
- Allergen cross-contact statement
- A gluten-free statement
- Plant parts and extract ratios
None of that is unusual, but each is a fair question for the seller.
Comparing08
How do you compare the panel with another product?
Put the two panels side by side and compare the same unit, the same ingredient and the same form.
Look at the per-serving amount, the number of capsules in a serving and the price per serving, not per bottle. Check whether the other product names an extract and a standardized compound. A cheaper bottle with half the capsules per serving may cost more per day. Writing the numbers on paper, even roughly, usually makes the better choice clear.
Bottom line09
What is the bottom line on the panel?
Read per serving, treat the niacin figure with care and ask for the missing details.
Compare the panel with your bottle on arrival.
FAQ10
Questions on this topic
How many capsules make one Protoflow serving?
Two capsules. There are 30 servings in the 60-capsule bottle.
Why do some lines show no percent daily value?
No daily value has been established for those ingredients, and the dagger on the panel says so.
Is 469% of the daily value of niacin safe?
It is above the 35 mg upper limit for supplements, so it can cause flushing, and high doses can affect the liver.
Does the panel list inactive ingredients?
Yes, under other ingredients: rice flour, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, soy protein concentrate and water.
