Protoflow Dosage: Serving Size, Amounts and Limits

Quick answer

The Protoflow dose is two capsules daily with water, which supplies 1,531 mg of listed lines, 75 mg of niacin and 13 mg of vitamin E. Niacin is above the 35 mg upper limit. The label gives no extract details for the herbs, so the doses cannot be compared with those in research.

Serving01

What is one serving?

Two capsules, taken daily with water, and a 60-capsule bottle holds 30 servings.

Everything on the Supplement Facts panel is stated per serving, not per capsule. If you read a number on the label, double the capsule thinking: a single capsule holds half. That matters when you compare Protoflow with other products, since some brands list amounts per capsule.

The twelve herb and other lines total 1,531 mg between them.

Against research03

How do these doses compare with research doses?

They are hard to compare, because the label gives no extract type, ratio or marker compounds.

Saw palmetto trials often used about 320 mg a day of a lipid extract (NCCIH, Saw Palmetto), while the label lists 84.5 mg of an unspecified form. Hawthorn trials differ widely (NCCIH, Hawthorn). With a proprietary-style blend, a study of one ingredient says little about this product. That is a gap, not a verdict.

Niacin04

How does the niacin dose compare with the limit?

At 75 mg a serving, it is more than twice the 35 mg tolerable upper intake level for adults.

NIH sets 35 mg because flushing can start at around 30 to 50 mg of nicotinic acid (NIH ODS, Niacin). The label does not say whether the niacin is nicotinic acid, niacinamide or another form, and the forms behave differently. Niacinamide does not usually flush, while nicotinic acid does. Ask the seller which form is used.

Vitamin E05

How does the vitamin E dose compare?

At 13 mg, it is below the 1,000 mg upper limit and close to the 15 mg recommended daily amount.

The SELECT trial used 400 IU a day, far more, and found a higher rate of prostate cancer among men who took vitamin E alone (NIH ODS, Vitamin E). Protoflow's dose is much lower, but men who already take a multivitamin or a separate vitamin E capsule should add up the total. High doses may raise bleeding risk, especially with blood thinners.

Stacking06

What if you already take other supplements?

Add up the niacin, vitamin E and herbs across everything, since overlaps raise totals quickly.

Many multivitamins and B-complex products carry 20 to 50 mg of niacin on their own. Add Protoflow and you may pass 100 mg a day without noticing. Make a short list of every product, with amounts, and show it to your pharmacist. That list is useful at every medical visit.

Questions07

What should you ask the seller about dosage?

  • Which form of niacin is used?
  • What type of extract is each herb, and what ratio?
  • Which plant part is used for damiana and muira puama?
  • Is the amount tested per lot, and can I see the result?

Ask in writing at [email protected]. A clear answer builds trust, and a vague one tells you how far to rely on the label.

Bottom line08

What is the bottom line on dosage?

The dose is two capsules, the numbers are on the label, and the label leaves several important questions open.

Take no more than the label says.
