How Many Protoflow Capsules Per Day?

Quick answer

The label says adults take two Protoflow capsules daily with water, and not to exceed suggested use. Two capsules give 75 mg of niacin and 1,531 mg of blend in total. A 60-capsule bottle lasts 30 days. Taking more adds niacin and herb exposure with no known benefit.

The label01

What number does the label give?

Two capsules daily with water, taken by adults, with a caution not to exceed suggested use.

The bottle holds 60 capsules, so the serving size of two gives 30 servings. The label does not give a different amount for heavier men, older men or men with larger prostates. It also gives no separate morning and evening split. The simplest reading is two capsules in total across the day, taken at a regular time.

The numbers02

What do two capsules add up to?

Each serving gives 13 mg of vitamin E, 75 mg of niacin and 1,531 mg of the herb and other lines.

What one daily serving of two capsules supplies
LineAmount per serving
Vitamin E13 mg (87% DV)
Niacin75 mg (469% DV)
Hawthorn and epimedium250 mg each
Damiana and muira puama200 mg each
Ginkgo, ginseng, tribulus120 mg each

The full list is on the supplement facts page.

Niacin03

Why does the niacin amount limit how much you should take?

Because 75 mg is already above the 35 mg daily upper limit for niacin from supplements and fortified foods.

NIH sets 35 mg as the tolerable upper intake level for adults, based on flushing (NIH ODS, Niacin). Taking four capsules would give 150 mg, more than four times that limit. Flushing, itching and stomach upset become likelier, and liver effects have been reported with high doses of niacin. That alone is a good reason to stay with two.

More04

Would taking more capsules work better?

There is no evidence that it would, and no study tested higher amounts of this blend.

Herbs do not follow a simple more-is-better rule. Ginkgo and vitamin E can affect bleeding (NCCIH, Ginkgo), and extra capsules raise that exposure. The label warns against exceeding suggested use for a reason. If two capsules do nothing noticeable over a fair trial, the sensible next step is a conversation with a doctor, not a bigger dose.

Less05

Is it fine to take one capsule instead?

The label does not offer a one-capsule option, and a half dose has not been studied either.

Some men who flush take the capsules with a meal. Others ask whether they can halve the dose. We cannot say what half the dose does, and the sales claims were built on the full serving. If side effects trouble you, talk to your pharmacist or doctor, or stop and use the refund window.

Supply06

How long does a bottle last at two a day?

Thirty days, since 60 capsules at two a day make 30 servings.

That is why the packs are priced per bottle: $79 each for two, $59 each for three and $49 each for six. A day costs $2.63, $1.97 or $1.63 on those packs. If you take extra capsules, the supply shrinks and the cost per day rises. See the pricing page for the packs and the 60-day guarantee.

Medicines07

Does the count change if you take medicines?

Do not change it yourself; ask a pharmacist whether the blend suits you at all.

The label says to consult a physician prior to use if you take any medication. Blood thinners, blood pressure medicines and diabetes medicines are the usual concerns. A pharmacist can check the ingredient list against your prescriptions in minutes. Keep taking prescribed medicine as directed while you ask.

Bottom line08

What is the bottom line on the daily count?

Two a day, no more, with water, and a clear date to review at week six.

That keeps niacin as low as the label allows and keeps your trial fair.

FAQ09

Questions on this topic

Can I take three Protoflow capsules a day?

The label says two. Three would give about 112 mg of niacin, so we do not suggest it.

Is two Protoflow capsules a day safe long term?

No long-term studies of the blend exist. Ask your doctor if you plan to take it for months.

Do I take both capsules at the same time?

The label does not say. Taking them together at a steady time is the simplest approach.

What happens if I take too many Protoflow capsules?

Expect flushing or stomach upset, and call a doctor or poison control for large amounts or any severe symptom.
